CPD Event: Drones - Data From the Sky


‘Drones, Data from the sky’,  this is a networking breakfast event with the Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB) and will be showing how drones can survey the ground from above, providing data of the ground at a stand-off.  There will be bacon sandwiches, tea and coffee to aid in networking at this event.  A second presentation to the military delegation will be conducted, looking at what this could bring to the military with the ability to gather distance data, heights and pictures to a high accuracy from a stand-off position (an example would be bridge recce’s with little physical exposure).
Trimble will be surveying the bridging gap at Perham Down as part of the exercise to show the opportunities this type of equipment will provide, as well as showing data from a recent survey of the arches at Chatham barracks.

The events are open to all ranks but it is recommended that ME Surveyors, Recce Sgts, Tp Comds, Ops Offrs and Design Trades are the main target audience and are encouraged to attend. 
The aim of the events is to enable an understanding of how this equipment will assist us in being greater force enabler in the future.
