JOINT PROFESSIONAL MEETING - 20 WORKS GROUP RE
AND THE INSTITUTION OF CIVIL ENGINEERS - 6 JUNE 2018
Air Support
20 Works Group Royal Engineers (Air Support) provides consultancy, design and project management of infrastructure for air and aviation assets deployed worldwide on operations. From the hastily prepared airfields in Normandy, post D-Day, to the present day where fast jets and remotely piloted aircraft target Daesh terrorists in Eastern Syria, the Corps of Royal Engineers has been at the forefront supporting RAF aircraft. This presentation will provide an overview of airfield support tasks. The JPM also supports our wider Wks Gp battlefield study, where we will be examining D-Day landing grounds constructed by 20 Army Group Royal Engineers and applying our current operational airfield requirements to the WW2 terrain.

Venue: RAF Wittering
