The Institution of Royal Engineers (InstRE)



1.         Introduction.  In conjunction with the Royal Engineers Museum, the Royal Engineers Historical Society (REHS) will hold its Annual General Meeting and Open Day at the Royal Engineers Museum in Chatham on Fri 19 Oct 2018.   With the AGM starting the day, the event will consist of a series of displays, guided tours and talks and be finished off with a buffet lunch.  The event is open to REHS members and serving members of the Corps as well as associate members who wish to attend.

3.         Registration & Further Details.  To register for the day please email with your details (name & rank if applicable and contact email).  A finalised programme and details will be published on the Institution of Royal Engineers website

4.         Annual General Meeting.  Minutes of the 2017 AGM are already available here.  The meeting will take place in The Field Marshal Room in the Museum and will start at 0845hrs

5.         Administrative Details.  Key points:


·         Location.  The Royal Engineers Museum is in Chatham, postcode ME4 4UP.  Further details can be found at the museum at  


·         Parking.  There is only limited parking at the museum.  Those attending are encouraged to park either in Brompton Barracks (if military) and walk around to the museum or park nearby.


·         Arrival.  There will be a registration point upon arrival.  Those attending should enter via the main entrance to the museum where they will be guided to either the AGM or the main event a bit later on.  There will also be refreshments upon arrival for the Open Day before events begin in the café area.

6.         REHS and Data Protection. With the new GDPR system now in place, the REHS falls under the Institution of Royal Engineers Data Protection and Privacy Policy.
