Professional Practices

On operations, in barracks, in demand and always professional.  Learning from lessons and always developing approaches and techniques.

Operational Experience

Future operations are always standing on the shoulders of past operations.

The Royal Engineers have been at the forefront of military operations for more than 300 years.  Many of these operations have left us with lessons that we have learnt from and developed against.

Modernisation

To enable modern military practices to develop we must connect our thoughts, decisions and situations with modern engineering thinking and techniques.

Crisis Response

Humanitarian crises and disasters (both natural and man-made), if not addressed rapidly and effectively, can deteriorate quickly with sometimes significant repercussions. Nations least able to withstand the effects of natural disaster, or at greatest risk to man-made disaster, are frequently among those that are most susceptible to political instability, civil disorder and unrest. Whilst the moral imperative to contribute to humanitarian relief will be paramount, there may also be other UK interest in intervening.

Operation Rescript is just the latest of a long list of support measures the Royal Engineers have taken part in.
