Registration entry fees are to be paid at time of qualification award, after which, annual registration fees will be paid the following 1st January annually. |

All Serving Army Regular Professional Registrants (EngTechs, IEng & CEng) are currently eligible for the reimbursement of all of their annual professional subscription and registration fees. SO REMEMBER TO CLAIM BACK YOUR FEES IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLEHow to claim is explained in Defence Internal Notices (2025DIN01-039-Military Refund of Engineering Professional Body Fees.docx). If claiming just let the Institution know so that we can send you an invoice. Alternatively, you may decide to have your professional fees considered as part of your TAX CODE for the current financial year when you do your self-assessment and HMRC can assist you. |

*For IEng & CEng initial fees and charges includes a £125.00 one-off contribution to interview & assessment costs ** The Army is committed to developing more professionally qualified engineers and technicians, and will pay annual professional registration fees (less the initial fee) for the foreseeable future. You may be eligible to claim back your annual fees if you are still serving. Full details of how to proceed can be found in 2021DIN01-077, Refund of Engineering Professional Body Fees, that you will be sent following a successful application. All the fees above include the Engineering Council fees increases for 2026. To apply for an Engineering registration with the Institution of Royal Engineers you must first become a member.
