Professional development and professional support.

Develop your career Useful help and advice to take your career as a military engineer to the next level no matter what stage you are at.

Practising military engineers

Military engineering often delivers a battle winning edge and the Institution is committed to its continuous advancement as both an art and science.  Becoming professionally qualified with Institute of Royal Engineerd is something to be proud of and part of individual betterment to the wider benefit of society.  More importantly, it is often extremely rewarding.

Military engineering is constantly evolving and adapting to the demands of the operating environment; it is a challenge to keep up, but with the support of industry and academia the Institution is able to remain current and offer skill enhancing opportunities to our membership.  Committing to life-long learning, continuous personal development and continuing professional development (CPD) will allow you to remain current and to add value.  We all should strive to build our own knowledge and experience and make connections as part of the wider network of military engineers who are a broad community of interest.

Maintaining your CPD is mandatory for professional registrants.  But as a military engineer you each should seek to add to your own personal skills and experience.

Eligible regular soldiers should apply for the Engineering Professional Registration Award (EPRA) that has been introduced by the Army in recognition of the value of professional registration.
