EngineeringUK – Now and in the future
Engineering UK have released a new report – Engineering skills needs – now and into the future, published in May 2023, provides detailing insights into the engineering and technology sector.
The report annexe includes skills snapshots for each of the 13 engineering thematic grouping. Each snapshot includes the specialist and software skills most sought after by recruiting employers as well as the top occupations employers have been recruiting for over the past year.
The Tomorrow’s Engineers Code is a commitment to work toward common goals, or pledges, to increase the diversity and number of young people entering engineering careers.

Reshaping Engineering
Delivered in collaboration with AzuKo, this month-long virtual design challenge is returning for a second year to provide student and professional participants from around the world with a unique opportunity to reshape how engineering is taught and practised to ensure a safe and just future for all.
Intended for those with and without engineering expertise, participants will tackle a real-world brief that will facilitate a deeper and broader understanding of the impacts of engineering and the approaches for putting global responsibility at the heart of all we do.
This opportunity, and its results, could give an ideal chance to collect CPD and possibly even join in.
Engineering for People Design Challenge
A report published by the IET found that 93% of UK engineering companies with a sustainability strategy do not have staff with the skills to fulfil it. Simultaneously, the building and construction sector is responsible for 38% of global emissions. With the 2030 deadline for meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals looming time is running out to upskill those who can enact positive change.

Big Bang Digital
From climate change, technology and medicine to food production, energy and loads more, Big Bang Digital is packed full of exciting, interactive sessions.
There are a mix of live sessions and hour-long blocks of on-demand content. In each hour block there is a choice of up to 6 on-demand videos to choose from.
We want to make Big Bang Digital as accessible to young people as possible. All sessions are subtitled and all live sessions will have the option to add a British sign language interpretation (BSL) to it.
Within 6 weeks of the event all sessions will be available to watch via our website with BSL or audio descriptions (AD) added.
