14 October 2021 – REHS 5th Anniversary study period

Over the period 14th and 15th October, building on the success of a similarly run study period in October 2019, the aim was to bring those involved in writing the Corps history together over a number of linked activities in order to deepen, present and promote the project, focusing on learning lessons for the Corps today:

A Principal Authors’ Meeting for Volume XIII of the Corps History.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the RE Historical Society (REHS).

A History Conference – for the wider Corps – designed to present the main lessons of Volume XIII, and to commemorate the first five years of the re-established REHS. The proposed title is: Learning from Recent Operations: The Royal Engineers in Action, 2000-2019.
Terms and Conditions
- All participant cameras and microphones are to kept switched off at all times.
- If a participant wishes to raise a question, the attendee must pose the question in the MS Team’s chat function. The admin team will pose all questions to the presenter at a pre-agreed time.
- If an attendee’s question is deemed appropriate, then the attendee will be invited to switch on their camera and microphone iot to pose the question personally. This is not a must, as questions can be submitted and answered without interaction if preferred.
- Attendees must be aware that the online elements and presentations will be recorded for archival purposes. Once security checked, elements of the conference may be hosted on InstRE or Corps SM Channels i.e. Defence Connect, the InstRE website and/or the Corps’ YouTube channel.
